Where We Go From Here

Colorado Ukrainian PAC congratulates the winners in last Tuesday’s elections.  We are particularly pleased that, at the local level, nearly all incumbent candidates who supported Ukraine won their races and will be returning to Congress.  

We look forward to continued support for Ukraine from Representatives DeGette, Neguse, Crow, and Petterson and thank them again for their efforts.  As of this writing, the 8th District race of incumbent Ydira Caraveo has not yet been decided.

Regarding the return of Donald J. Trump to the White House, we are reminded of what Winston Churchill said when Great Britain was fighting for its survival against Hitler in World War II.  “To crush Germany I am prepared to enter into an alliance with anyone, even the devil,” Churchill said.  

For Colorado Ukrainian PAC, Putin is the devil.  To crush Putin and remove Russian troops from Ukraine we are prepared to support anyone who will fight alongside us.  That includes the President-elect.  For now he controls the Republican Party and the Republican Party controls the Senate and — it appears — the House of Representatives.  Ukraine’s survival as an independent and sovereign state now depends on the United States of America.  That remains our focus.
